In the course of sharing information about the building of the fourth church, I used information written by John T. McKnight. He was the secretary of the building committee in 1915-16. There was something about his style of writing that seemed familiar to me. I found out he was the uncle of Nellie McKnight, a former historian of our church. who was instrumental in the planning of the 50 th Anniversary of our church building. Both Nellie and her uncle embedded a bit of wry wit whenever they typed up a report.
On September 18 th , our worship service will follow the program of both 1916 and 1966 to celebrate the 100 th anniversary of our church building which is known as a meeting house. Chas Gross will read the Building Committee’s Report that John T. McKnight wrote and read at the Dedicatory Service which was held on August 17, 1916. See t he September Caller to read the entire article.
