Dear Women of ECC,
We are excited to be moving into the first full month of spring! Women’s Fellowship is hosting an Open House Gathering for Leigh Lezotte on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. Join us to have some fun, conversation and the chance to thank
Leigh for her service and ministry here at ECC.
The applications for the two $500 scholarships offered each year by Women’s Fellowship for higher education are due in the church office by May 1, 2022. Please plan accordingly as late applications will not be accepted. There is a separate article in the Caller explaining how to apply.
We also have some wonderful news – Jen Traynor has agreed to Chair our Farmhouse Fair this year. It is the 60th Anniversary of our Fair, and we are excited to be planning for it. The Farmhouse Fair will be held on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5 this year. We are praying and
planning for many of our favorites to be back for our 60th Anniversary Fair! These include our Farmhouse Fair Café offerings which are Friday night - Pasta Dinner and Saturday - Luncheon. We expect to have the Cookie Bees Booth along with our Christmas Shoppe, Faithful Fibers, Quilt Cupboard, Raggedy Ann & Andy, the Bakery, Gals & Dolls, Kids Corner, and Inspiration Station (so far). It is not too early to be planning for the Fair. If you have some ideas, or would like to chair a new booth, please see Jen.
Also, please mark your calendars! On Saturday, October 15 in conjunction with the Ellington Historical Society Fall Fair, we will be offering a preview of our Fair. Right now, this will be a few tables manned by Jen T. and Alexis K. It will also be an opportunity to promote the upcoming Fair.
Reminder - There are two pamphlets from the federal government available on the table outside of the church office about protecting your identity and cyber theft. Please feel free to take one of each. We had a presentation in the fall about ways to help protect yourself from cyber theft, and the printed materials help support the presentation information.
We also ask that you consider prayerfully if a leadership role in Women’s Fellowship is something that you would be willing and able to do. Officers are elected in June at our Annual Dinner, details TBD. There are many opportunities to support and help in Women’s Fellowship, including joining the Women’s Fellowship Executive Board. The officer positions include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Kitchen Chair, Farmhouse Fair Chair, Program Chair and Chaplin. There are several open opportunities for service and leadership available.
Our next Women’s Fellowship Executive Board Meeting is Friday, May 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. on Zoom.
Penny Gates, Acting President
