The Women’s Fellowship of the Ellington Congregational Church is open to all members and friends of the church. We encourage you to participate in our organization.
“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” From The Message, 1 Peter 4:10
Dear Women of ECC,
The Women’s Fellowship Executive Board wishes a Happy New Year to you and your families. We delivered Christmas cactuses during the month of December to some of those facing health and other challenges at this time of year.
Just like the challenges facing the overall church, the Women’s Fellowship Board has been short of helping hands. We have been operating since June 2021 without an official President (and Penny Gates, our Vice President has stepped up as Acting President). We are also actively seeking a Chair or Co-Chairs to lead the Farmhouse Fair activities as we move toward our 60th Annual Farmhouse Fair in 2022. Please see Penny Gates if this is something that you are considering or if you have any questions. We also ask that you consider prayerfully if a leadership role in Women’s Fellowship is something that you would be willing and able to do.
On Sunday, January 9, 2022, there will be the Women's Fellowship General Meeting to approve the Women's Fellowship annual budget. This brief meeting will be held on Zoom at noon on January 9, 2022 and NOT in the sanctuary as originally advertised. The Zoom meeting link will be emailed prior to the meeting.
Our budget has not been greatly reduced despite COVID. As you may recall, we had a successful but very abbreviated version of the Farmhouse Fair in 2021. We have put some funds in place with the prayerful expectation that we will again be able to offer some of our past programs. We will keep you apprised of upcoming programs and activities as the year unfolds. We are praying for a more “normal” year for 2022.
We also want to offer our heartfelt thanks to Leigh Lezotte for all she has done for us over the past years. Leigh has been such a resource and support for Women’s Fellowship project, particularly with our largest yearly endeavor of the Farmhouse Fair. We will miss Leigh, her kindness, her proactive work ethic and all that she did to support Women’s Fellowship. She has been such a blessing to our fellowship. Thank you, Leigh and may God bless you and your future plans!
Next Women’s Fellowship Executive Board Meeting, February 4, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Room 201. Wishing you all a very Happy 2022!
Penny Gates, Acting President
