Dear Women of ECC,
Happy New Year! On Sunday, January 8, 2023 immediately following our worship service, we will remain in the sanctuary briefly to approve the Women’s Fellowship Budget for 2023. Our financial resources come primarily from the Farmhouse Fair. We support internal programs, donate to the ECC Budget, and make donations to our ECC ministries. We also support some community events such as Safe Grad parties in the towns that have our church high-school seniors attending. Please plan to stay for a short meeting to approve the 2023 Women’s Fellowship Budget.
Our Prayer Shawl Ministry will be celebrating 20 years of ministry this month. We will be celebrating during Social Hour on January 22, 2023. Join us!
Sacred Stitches meets on the third Thursday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and their next meeting is Thursday, January 19, 2023. Everyone who wants to sew is welcome to join. Please contact Jan Schaeffer at 860-875-5581 with any questions.
We are still in need of a Program Chair for Women’s Fellowship. The position is part of the Women’s Fellowship Executive Board, which currently is meeting monthly. The Program Chair is responsible for organizing and carrying- through activities and events for our general Women’s Fellowship. Sometimes the whole church is invited to attend a program or field trip.In the past we have brought in outside groups from Irish dancers, hula dancers, beekeepers to organizing field trips to the Thimble Islands. Please see Penny Gates if this is something you would like to try. Our term runs from June to June.
Save the Date! Women’s Fellowship has scheduled an All-Church Game Afternoon in the Social Room from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, March 19, 2023. Women’s Fellowship will be providing grinders and beverages. Please join us and bring your favorite board game or cards. More details will be forthcoming – stay tuned.
Finally, thank you to Vicki Oravits, our coat collection for hawkwing continues. Please place clean, gently-used coats in the bin in the narthex. Thank you to Vicki for taking on this
ministry. And again, thank you to Jan and Dave Danforth for their years of service to this much-needed ministry.
