In preparation for this Sunday, January 10th during The Responding to the Word there will be an Invitation to Renew Baptismal Vows. You may want to have a bowl filled with a bit of water ready and by your side. It can be any bowl, but perhaps you have one that has meaning to it. The one I will use was made by a friend and is special for me. Sharing it with you for the Renewal of Baptismal Vows will make it even more special.

What songs does your heart sing? Everything on the earth – everything in the universe has its own vibration. Basically, every tiny speck of everything God made has a song! Sometimes, it is only when we humans get our hands on something that the song turns harsh and disorderly! Yes, we probably all agree that 2020 was a difficult year in many ways! What we all know is that if we keep God’s song in our heart, everything was, can, and will be made better.

As a result of our difficult 2020 year, I will probably only get to meet you virtually, and that will certainly be my loss. A few of you at Ellington Congregational Church already know me. While I will only be with you for a short time, it is an important time, beginning with us rededicating ourselves to God and being renewed through God’s graciousness. It is a time when we need to pray, breathe deeply, and fill ourselves with serenity and peace for all the important decisions you, as a faith community, will be called upon to make in this 2021 year.

Please join in on this Sunday’s virtual service where you will meet me as your “Bridge Minister.” We will explore “The Song of the Dove” and will be renewed and transformed by God, Christ, and Holy Spirit. Thanks be to God.

With Blessings and Peace to all of you,

Reverend Joanne
