The Scriptures in last week’s lessons show-cased God’s voice. I like to refer to God’s voice as God’s song. God sang into being everything that has ever been created by God. We heard God’s song in Genesis 1:1-5, in the Gospel of Mark 1:4-11, indirectly in the Acts passage, Acts 19:1-7, and in Psalm 29 which was also part of the Revised Common Lectionary. I would encourage you to read Psalm 29.   This week, the message will almost be a continuation of last Sunday’s message. We again hear God’s voice, God’s song, as God speaks with the boy Samuel, an assistant to the priest Eli. Samuel was dedicated to God by his mother, Hannah, after he was weaned from her. At first Samuel did not know God’s voice and thought it was Eli calling to him.   As we grow in our seeking of God, are we aware of God’s voice, God’s song to us? There are so many voices in this world that call out to us; we must be very perceptive and selective! That is why, on our life journey, our faith journey, and our spiritual journey, we must continue to “Question and Seek.”   Please join Sunday’s virtual worship service when you will also hear the voices of Wade Overgaard, Lee Carman, and Esther Pezzella (yes, Esther’s voice will be heard in her music) joining in with your voices as we give thanks to God!   With God’s Eternal and Unconditional Love to You, God’s Disciples, Reverend Joanne
