Easter Sunday was such a gorgeous day! Our outside service was made complete with George, the bunny. I cannot say thank you enough to all who made both the virtual and the outside worship services possible.

There was a deep and moving understanding of Easter by all who “kept watch” during the Easter vigil from noon Friday until 7:00 am. on Easter Sunday.

We are now in the season of Easter or Eastertide, which brings new life to us in many ways! God’s creation bursts forth with brightly colored flowers and beautiful green hues. It is the time for planting and watching new growth as the seeds take root. With praise and hallelujahs, we humans need to take this time to celebrate our own rebirth, growth, and transformation that came with Jesus’ Resurrection and becoming the “new covenant.” Eastertide began at Easter eve on Saturday and will run for fifty days until Pentecost Sunday, May 23. During this time, we also strive to live into our baptismal vows (and our Confirmation vows). We were baptized into the death and Resurrection of Christ. Along with Christ Jesus resurrection, we need to continue our faith formation and consider how to better our lives as Jesus’ disciples.

Christ has risen! Christ has risen indeed!

Your Sister in Christ, Pastor Joanne
