This ministry was started in 2010 by a small group of women who like to sew.  They decided to make quilts for two very different projects.  First, small quilts were sewn and donated to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of Hartford Hospital, where they were used to drape over the incubators to cut down on the amount of light getting to the infants.  Second, larger lap-sized quilts were made and donated to Covenant to Care, with whom ECC had an ongoing agreement of support for the Social Workers who served children in the care of DCF.  An average of 20 quilts were completed for each project.   Come and join the ECC Sewing Circle sewers on the 3rd Thursday of each month in the Social Room from 9:00 a.m. to noon.  Bring your sewing machine and sewing kit or borrow ours.  Work on your own project or help with one of ours.  We have lots of fabric and patterns available.  If you want to know anything about sewing or quilting, we can show you how.  We can show you how.  If you are interested in our group or have questions, please call Jan Schaeffer 860-875-5581.
