The Board of Deacons is entrusted, along with the Pastor, with the spiritual life of the church. Its duties include:
- Assist the Pastor at special services and baptisms
- Prepare and serve Communion visitation of church members who are hospitalized or in nursing homes
- Attend a retreat to plan the year’s activities and receive spiritual encouragement and renewal for the coming year
- Facilitate the wearing of name tags at Sunday service
- Coordinate riders for church members who can not get themselves to Sunday service
- Sponsor special programs and suppers
